May Long Weekend in Spokane

Wade still had a few vacation days to use before July so we took added a couple days onto an already long weekend and drove down to Idaho/Washington.  We stayed in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho which is just on the other side of the state border from Spokane, Washington.

Spokane was celebrating their Lilac Festival in the Riverfront Park so we went down there Saturday to check it out.  The Riverfront Park was where the 1974 World's Fair but has been turned into a nice park area.  It had a carrousel, skyride over the falls, a play area, a little train, and even a garbage eating goat.

As part of the Lilac Festival there was a car show also downtown.  I'm not exactly sure what Ethan was expecting in a car show but he kept commenting on how it wasn't really a show.
We also went for a little hike on Mt Spokane.

The lady at the front desk of our hotel mentioned that Coeur d'Arlene had a really nice city park.  The playground was designed by kids and built by volunteers.  We ended up stopping by for a little while each day that we were there.
