Doors Open YYC 2015

A favorite event of ours here in Calgary is the Doors Open Weekend.  Lots of places around town open for behind the scene tours and more.  This year the kids and I went and did a tour of the City of Calgary's Ashpalt Plant and Traffic Management Centre.  The city also had some of their equipment out for people to check out.

Supermoon Lunar Eclipse

I think almost everyone looked out to see if they were able to see the Supermoon Lunar Eclipse on Sept 27th.  We had a few clouds that were in just the wrong spot for most of the eclipse.  We looked outside one last time and saw the clouds had moved out of the way.  We woke Ethan up so he could see even though he might not remember.

Ethan's First Day of Kindergarten

Hard to believe this little guy is already in Kindergarten.  They had a day of small group meetings prior to the first day so a picture from the small group and then also the first actual day.

Some Summer Fun

Just a few pics of the kids enjoying the summer...

Britt Visits

Over Labour Day Weekend, Wade's brother Britt came to visit.  We tried to find a couple new things to do since he had been here before.  We went a little south of town to the Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump.  The weather didn't cooperate to check out the actual site but it had a very nice interpretive centre and museum.

We took it easy one day and went bowling.

And the last day of the long weekend we went out to the Kananaskis area.  We looked around at the Kananaskis Village, had lunch at the Lower Kananaskis Lake and then went for a short hike.

Trip to Edmonton

We managed to get in a quick trip to Edmonton at the end of August.  We had dinner with friends every night we were there and during the days we visited some of our favorite places (Old Strathcona Farmer's Market, Highlevel Streetcar, the Muttart Conservatory which had a display of Zimbabwe sculptures called ZimSculpt and Jurassic Forest).

Engineered Air Family Picnic at Cobb's Corn Maze

Engineered Air once again did their annual family picnic at Cobb's Corn Maze.  It had rained a lot the day before so we didn't actually go through the large corn maze but there was plenty of other activities for us to check out.
